Jim Ogonowski for Congress (MA-05): A Connection To 9/11

This year at RedState, as we begin vetting candidates, we intend to take a special interest in Congressional candidates who are veterans. At one time, the bulk of Republicans in Congress were veterans, but that's not the case any more. However, as men and women return from Iraq and Afghanistan, interested in politics, we want to pay special attention to them.

Today, however, there is a race where you might be able to have an impact. It's going to be difficult and the odds are against us, but in a year where there isn't much going on, we would encourage you to support Lt. Col. Jim Ogonowski (Ret.), who is running in MA-05.

Jim's brother, John Ogonowski, was the pilot of American Airlines Flight 11 on September 11th. Jim is a 28 year veteran of the Air Force and Air National Guard. Jim knows what we're up against.

Jim Ogonowski is within striking distance of victory and with our help, he just might do it.

Your contribution could help. Please consider supporting Jim Ogonowski.

In Boehner's statement? Does he think the objective in Iraq is not worth the cost? If I want to support "cut-and-run" I'll give directly to Murtha.

I found this at his website by NightTwister

This quote is from Sept. 13, 2007 (one week ago).

Republican Jim Ogonowski today released a harshly-worded statement on the war in Iraq, saying "the president has completely mishandled the situation."

Ogonowski then called on President Bush to put more demands on the Iraqi government; develop a broader regional coalition to stabilize Iraq; and engage with more diplomatic discussions with countries like Iran and Syria.

He also said the president should solicit the help of three former presidents -- two of the Democrats -- Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.

Why in the world would ANYONE of sound mind want Jimmy Carter involved in ANYTHING having to do with foreign policy, ESPECIALLY anything having to do with the middle east?

He'd still be an improvement on Tsongas.

Well, I'm sorry to say... by NightTwister

...but I'm not interested in supporting RINOs. That's part of the reason why we are where we are. If we're going to help a liberal get into office, they might as well be a democrat. I'm simply not ready to give the party over to its liberal wing.

NO WAY! by batmanindy

I do not care if he was on one of the crashed jets and survived. I will not support any republican candidate in 2008.

The war is a mismanaged nightmare and the National Debt is over $9 trillion. Bush has destroyed the party and abandoned principle.

The party -- irrespective of who runs and what their background and stature is -- must be punished.

No one should vote for a republican under any circumstance in 2008.

oh to have the blamstick.
