From his Wednesday broadcast:
I think Republicans are focusing on the wrong race.
The White House is important.
But losing, and likely losing big, in the House and Congress, well, right now, that's more important.
He goes on to talk about the 3 House seats that Republicans have lost. Read the whole thing, it's not very long.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but it takes the bandwidth of ten thousand.
1. We're gonna lose a lot of those races anyway. Yes, we should fight for the Senate seats in particular...but realistically we have a better shot with McCain vs Obama than some of the down-ticket races where the generic mood will be harder to overcome.
2. Most of what Congress screws up can be fixed a lot more easily than the war and the courts, as to which there is no substitute for the White House.

The POTUS gets to choose supreme court justices. Let's say we have a Republican congress and a Democrat President. Dem Pres nominates a total lefty to SCOTUS. Our guys roll over like they always do and we end up with Ruth Bader Ginsburg. At least if we have an R in the White House there's a chance of getting a constructionist on the bench. For those of us whose mantra is "confirm the judges," that's most important.

This list is fairly lame without the reveals. Glad I could bring a little nausea into your life though ;P
