It's The Economy Stupid

So what should Senator McCain do? Talk about the economy. It's not at all accurate that the Democratic nominee Barack Obama has the advantage when it comes to economic issues this election. Remember, Barack Obama ran on an anti-war sentiment and a speech made back in 2002. All throughout the primary he tagged Hillary Clinton as a Washington figure head in part because of her vote for the war in Iraq.
MSNBC Political Director Chuck Todd said it best when he stated that Barack Obama wouldn't be the Democratic nominee for president had he not been against the war in the first place. So Obama's basically running on an issue in which he is now trying to back track and make like he never gave a speech on it, campaigned on it, and ran on it. All he has is his objection to the war and I'm afraid that won't get him elected.
So what John McCain can do is set up camp on the economic grounds. He can create a pro-growth, low taxes message that will resonate in places like Ohio, Pennsylvania, and other blue collar strongholds.
He can encourage middle and lower income Americans to invest, save money with savings accounts; and also invest in secondary education such as online college, community college, job corp, and trade schools. One of the reasons why Hillary Clinton won the blue collar and middle class over Barack Obama is because she talked about encouraging Americans to go back to school and enhance their abilities so they can find better jobs. McCain can also talk about expanding the Bush tax cuts beyond the top 1%. Instead of letting them expire and having taxes increase, which you don't want during an economic slowdown, he needs to talk about expanding them so they trickle down.
One effective strategy he can use is the old, "Obama is trying to punish you for making money" strategy. He wouldn't be lying. Barack Obama wants to punish big business and upper class Americans for making money. Never mind the idea of spreading prosperity; Barack Obama wants to zone off prosperity based on fairness. He doesn't believe in "Risk and Reward" economics. He believes in economic growth based on what is "fair" He believes in creased regulation of business, and he wants to raise the CGT above 28% which will affect not only the top percentage but the middle and lower income Americans he claims he represents.
Now, Obama says our enemies are the rich and the corporations in America. I'm wondering if Obama considers the majority of wealthy liberals who donate millions to his campaign "evil" or "unjust" I wonder what he thinks of George Soros and the dozens of Hollywood millionaire elite that throw fundraisers for him in Beverly Hills...And do they know he'll raise their taxes?
McCain shouldn't have flip flopped on the Bush tax cuts because they were a good idea. They sparked a 5% boost in the economy. What he should have said was that he supports the tax cuts but he wants to them expanded beyond the top percent. That would not only be a consistent message but a great idea because that's exactly what needs to be done.
Obama wants to raise taxes, halt any transitional energy policy, create a Windfall Profit tax that will only hurt the consumer and cause oil companies to go overseas for production and exploration further pinning the working American in a corner because that's a few thousand oil rig jobs going to workers overseas.

The Bush tax cuts helped out everyone who works - not just the top 1% or 10% or 12%.
